What this is

Suilynex is a membership society for mutual improvement. It meets in a private Discord, and this website is where membership begins. These terms are the agreement between you and Suilynex when you join. They are kept short so that they will be read.

How we handle your data is set out in the Privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

Membership

Membership costs one dollar a month, billed by Stripe as a recurring subscription. There is nothing else to pay and no tier above it.

You can cancel at any time. Your seat stays open until the end of the month you have paid for, and then access ends. We do not refund the remainder of a canceled month.

If something went wrong with a charge — you were billed after canceling, or billed twice — write to us within fourteen days of the charge and we will put it right.

To join you need a Discord account in good standing, and you must be old enough to hold one under Discord's terms. A seat is for one person; please do not share your account.

Conduct

The community runs on a small set of principles. They are the standard every member is held to, ourselves included.

• Curiosity over certainty.
• Discussion over performance.
• Disagreement without contempt.
• Give knowledge freely.
• Ask good questions.
• Help when you can.
• Stay open to being wrong.
• Bring something to the table.

Removal

We may remove a member who acts with contempt, harasses others, deceives, or does harm, whether inside the community or toward it. If we remove you, the current month is not refunded. We would rather talk first, and usually will.

Your content

What you write and share inside the community is yours. By posting it you allow it to be shown to other members inside the community, which is the only place it appears. We do not publish members' words outside the community without asking first.

Please share only what you have the right to share, and treat what others share with the same care.

Not professional advice

Members come from many fields and talk freely. What they share is their own view. It is not legal, medical, financial or other professional advice, and it is not the position of Suilynex. Weigh it as you would any conversation among thoughtful people, and consult a professional when it matters.

Availability

The community lives on Discord. Discord's outages, its rules, and changes to its service are outside our control, and we cannot promise that the Discord will always be reachable or unchanged. We will do our best to keep the society running and to tell you when something changes.

We may change how the community is organized, pause it, or close it. If we close it, we will give notice and take no further payments.

Our responsibility

Membership is offered as it is, for one dollar a month. To the extent the law allows, our responsibility to you for anything arising from your membership is limited to what you have paid us in the preceding month. Where the law gives you rights that cannot be limited, this does not limit them.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the new version will be posted here and the date at the top will be updated. If a change matters to members, we will say so inside the community before it takes effect. Continuing your membership after that means you accept the new terms; if you do not, cancel, and your access will end at the close of the paid month.
